Meet Your Hosts

We are Marion and Michael and waiting to welcome you at Moul Creek Lodge B & B. Let us make you feel like home. Are you ready to relax, enjoy and escape from everyday life? Let’s start creating memories that last forever! Meet us in the Canada you imagine.

Our Story

During many vacation trips to British Columbia in Canada we found this jewel – the Wells Gray Park. It was love on first sight and we came back twelve times before we decided to fulfill our dream to move into this beautiful part of BC.

In 2009 we moved from Germany onto this beautiful piece of land here in Wells Gray Park and built our log home Bed and Breakfast from scratch. It was always a dream to live in a log home surrounded by nature. We started to create a place for your holiday and we asked ourselves: When we go on vacation, what kind of place would we like to find?  The result, a place like Moul Creek Lodge.
When staying with us you might think it is a place in Europe. Yes, we tried to combine the Canadian log home ambience with modern European style and elegance. Because of the fact that we were the architects and built 80 percent of the house  ourselves, we could bring our influence in every stage of the building.

The Beautiful Clearwater Lodge

With only 3 rooms and a maximum of 6 guests we are a very personal
Bed & Breakfast and lodge in Clearwater. The fact that the guest rooms are in a separate annex and each room has its own entrance, gives our guests still privacy. After we finished building the B & B, we created the outdoor spaces and landscape around. Each guest suite has its own outside sitting area below the covering porch. Our guests can enjoy several sitting areas on the huge sundeck after a long day hiking. Sip a glass of wine and watch sunset in our newly built Pavilion and enjoy a pre-booked dinner with the other guests, which your hosts will cook and serve in the Breakfast Room.

You can watch the hummingbirds darting around, or meet Mr. and Mrs. Bear when they maybe cross our property. Sit outside read a good book and listen to the rush of the Moul Creek in our backyard. Meet other guests and share your experiences of the day or exchange information about your round trip. We are running this small, cozy, comfortable and personal place since 2010. It is awarded from TripAdvisor since with the “Certificate of Excellence” for 10 years in row, the “Hall of Fame” in 2015 and 2018 and the “Travelers’ Choice The Best of the Best” in 2017, 2020 and 2023.

Activities

Throughout the years we explored Wells Gray Park on several hiking tours ourselves. This enables us to give our guests a lot of insider tips for their hikes, what to see and to do in Wells Gray Park. Spread over the year you can perform so many activities such as hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, canoeing, just to name a few for spring, summer and fall. So is snowshoe hiking and Nordic Skiing a favorite activity for winter. Or visit the Helmcken Falls in winter time, with its huge ice cone and still rushing water it is impressive. Wildlife viewing is possible year around. We do have a whole range of wild animals such as cougar, grizzly, black bear, moose, wolf, coyote, fox and deer. Sometimes you just have to drive along Clearwater Valley Road and wildlife sightings is as common as sunset.
